Our wild mated Somerset Dark Bees / British Black Queens are selected from our own stock bred in North Somerset. These are the result of years of selection, looking for the best breeding material to work with from our own native / adapted bees.

These bees are bred to show more resistance to disease than black bees of old, and will produce as much of a honey crop as other more prolific bees.

Our aim with our dark bees is striving to produce a dark / black bee that is viable selecting from the best of our stocks and local genetic material.

Our queen bees will be sent by 1st class registered post in a specifically ventilated padded envelope.
